Hofburgkapelle
The Vienna Boys’ Choir sings every Sunday morning in the Hofburg Chapel. Knowing that June 24 was a special day, and that it happens to be a Sunday, we bought tickets months ago for all of us to see them sing.
We sat up in the balcony, where the music notes clashed together and floated into chords over our heads. There are Mom’s and Dad’s heads down there, on the left.
Happy Birthday Mom!
Look, this guy is lighting candles for you too!!
After church we walked through rows of blooming roses at the Volksgarten, and stopped someplace special that reminds all of us of Home.
“Home” also means homemade caramel-scotch cupcakes.
Later we would have a silly night over trout and schnitzel, and bowls of creamed pea soup. Wine is good for so many things, but the most important ones are laughter and birthdays! We are grateful and happy to share birthdays, and cupcakes, and silly videos of Jake and Eli spewing water across elaborate fish fountains.
And to toast one more year that we made it through, with hopes of many more to come.
