Thank you for staying with us Mimi and Dede!  What a wonderful month, and what a great help to have you here!

For decorating our tree, making meatloaf, roasting chickens, being home after school, brewing coffee, playing cards, Christmas punch, beers at Beaver, the train at Wolfgangsee, drop noodles, Thanksgiving pies, TWO middle school violin concerts, hot doughnuts at Schonbrunn, skating at the Rathaus, petting the cat, ignoring the cat walking all over the clean dishes, making crepes, steak soup on Christmas Eve, allowing yourselves to be squashed by your large grandchild on a carriage ride through the city, hauling syrup and wintergreen mints and a suitcase full of presents across the Atlantic…..

I’m sure there are details of this wonderful month I’ve missed, but I know by the tears when it came to an end that the memories are nestled deep.  Like the winter amaryllis sitting in that pot by the window, next to the the slippers for the elves from Iceland, Mimi and Dede keep coming back, blooming when we need them.  We treasure you!  Forever. And all the wisdom, patience, insight, and love that make our family stronger.  Thank you!!!
