I’m not sure which babies are cuter.

One of our favorite places in Lusaka is the Lilayi Elephant Orphanage, and we are so glad that we can share it with Nate and Sahara.  Not only do they have really cute elephants…

they have beer,

and ostrich carpaccio.  Mmmm…..

They also have HUGE hamburgers!

We spent an hour watching the elephants then headed over to the lodge for lunch, where we had drinks and snacks and played football while dodging animal turds.  It could have been the warthogs or monkeys, but the truth is that it looked like nothing more exotic than ducks.  Those ducks are a menace everywhere, aren’t they?  But wow, maybe it’s worth it to toss the football around in a place like this.

Sahara, Jake, and Eli were fascinated by the monkeys.  They did wonder (as we all do) why they have no hair on their butts?  I don’t know that a good answer was given, but in any case, they can sure climb trees well!
