Holland 2017
It was a whirlwind weekend that was not long enough, but as I’m always telling Eli who seems to have the hardest time going home,
It Is Always Better To Go Than To Not Go.
Especially to a place like Holland where our cousins are waiting for us!
Where there are giant playgrounds with zip lines, and places to feed ducks,
Charming scenes of bicycles outside Nathan and Leila’s front door,
Bakeries with Stroopwaffles,
Water Fountains and Trains,
War Fries!! Freedom Fries!!
Fried Everything!!
Did we mention the cousins yet?
We got to see where Sahara and Hunter go to school,
And Sahara lost a tooth!
She gave it to Darth Vader to keep safe. It is wrapped in a tissue, there in his left hand..
It was even warm enough to spend an evening at the beach!
We didn’t know when we arrived that this would be our last visit to the apartment on Theressiastraat, the place that Nathan, Leila, Hunter, and Sahara have called home for the last 11 years. The good news came the day after we left, that their offer on a new house was accepted! How lucky we were to have fit in one more visit. So many great things have happened here!
So many more things yet to come.
But no matter what the changes, some things will never change. There will always be more memories to make, more people to love, new places to call home. And so the next part of the story will be written, in the new house, one chapter at a time.
